On Wednesday May 16th 2012, in the great amphitheatre of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade, a lecture was given by the Very Reverend Archimandrite Basil Gondikakis, hegoumenos of monastery Iviron on Mount Athos, on the subject of the “Oecumenical Mission of the Orthodox Church”. Inspiring words of the Ivironian gerontos were translated by Kyr Maksim, the Right Reverend Bishop of the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church. A great number of students and the teaching staff of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology attended the lecture as well as Kyr Grigorije, the Right Reverend Bishop of Zahumlje and Hercegovina, and Kyr Jovan, the Right Reverend Bishop of Niš.
