Festival of Saint John the Theologian

On the eve of the festival of Saint John the Theologian, May 21/8th 2012, an all-night Vigil was celebrated at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of the University of Belgrade in its church dedicated to this, the youngest of the apostles of Christ. The Holy Liturgy was celebrated immediately following.

The principal celebrant at the occasion of the Vigil was Kyr David, Th.D., the Right Reverend Bishop of Kruševac, while the Holy Liturgy was presided by Kyr Jovan, the Right Reverend Bishop of Lipljan in con-celebration with Kyr David. After the reading of the Gospel, Kyr Jovan delivered the sermon to the gathered.

At noon, arch-presbyter Radovan Bigović, Th.D., the sub-dean of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, in con-celebration with several other presbyters and deacons, broke the festal cake to the glory and honor of Saint John the Theologian. After the braking of the festal cake ceremony, diplomas were issued to those who have attained their degrees at this theological school of high learning during the previous study period.
