On the day of February 25, 2013 His Holiness Kyr Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, attended the fifth regular meeting of the Teaching-Academic Council of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, University of Belgrade.
Participating in the formal session of the meeting, His Holiness gave his blessings and greeted all the teachers and the associates of the Faculty pointing out that neither the Faculty of Orthodox Theology could be separated from the Church, nor could the Church be separated from the Faculty. They are connected and they act in concert; the Faculty is the spring, the watering source for our priests, our catechists, the faithful and, generally speaking, for our entire local Church.
His Holiness Kyr Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, also attended the working session of the meeting thus gaining an opportunity to attain direct insight regarding the teaching-academic body of the Faculty and its activities. During his lengthy conversation with the teachers and the associates of the Faculty, His Holiness exhibited a great deal of interest regarding everyday life and activities at the Faculty, for teaching and study programs, and the financial status of this the highest theological educational institution in Serbia.
